This year you will embark on an exploration of the French language and the Francophone world. We will be covering topics such as culture, history, and most importantly the language itself
•The CHALLENGES of our program are:
•The GOAL of the program is COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE. Our aim is basic communication in the 3 modes of communication: Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational (En français bien sûr!)
•The CURRICULUM is built upon/aligned to the clearly defined 5 C’s of communication, cultures, connections, comparisons, and communities of the National and State Graduation Standards for Foreign Language Learning. Some topics include personal introductions, school life, sports, family, shopping and making plans.

- to actively engage learners to purposefully COMMUNICATE in French
- to pique the learners’ curiosity about the world around them
- to provide students with opportunities to demonstrate an understanding of the relationships between their culture and the various cultures of the French-speaking world
- to make connections with other academic disciplines
- to enable students as life-long learners to speak and enjoy French beyond the school setting.
